What is the Wilson Reading System®?
The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is a structured literacy program based on the Orton-Gillingham approach — a multisensory, systematic, and explicit method for teaching reading and spelling. Originally developed by Barbara Wilson, it is specifically designed for students in 2nd grade through adult who have not learned to read with traditional instruction, including those with dyslexia or other language-based learning disabilities.
WRS breaks language down into its smallest parts and builds skills step by step — teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension in a carefully sequenced, cumulative way. Every lesson is hands-on and engaging, using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques so that concepts truly stick.

I specialize in K–5 literacy — helping young readers build the phonics, fluency, and comprehension skills they need to become confident, joyful readers. Every session is tailored to your child's unique needs, learning style, and pace. No two kids are the same, and I believe every child has the ability to succeed with the right support.
